My generated image (for part of #5)

I was hoping these lessons would get easier, but, it's taking longer, and getting a little more frustrating!! This image is from "TickerFactory.com" which is one of the image generators, so I guess this is what we're supposed to be doing and I see more assignments....so until I find more time for the others, Ta!

Flickr Map

I have created a map with my hometown photos but am still trying to figure out how to post it to my blog. When my co-workers aren't so busy, I will ask for help in trying to do that. I'm going to try another generator when I have time. I'm losing my touch and my memory; they don't seem to want to copy and paste today. This may be it for Lesson 5.

Thanks to our ever helpful CT Superhero, Brett got me on the right track and I was able to post my map. Many thanks, MR. B!!

And away we go............

This is the trading card I created for Flickr. I took the picture off the Flickr website and thought I'd just let you in on a little more about myself. When I was growing up this was a real western town, except we didn't have hitching posts that I can remember. There were rodeos every night during the summer, a huge 4th of July Celebration which lasted about a week, very little to no crime at all, all kinds of outdoor activities for kids (no TV yet), and we knew all our neighbors. I hope to be able to return there this summer for a family reunion. I haven't been back for 15 years. I'm sure many, many things will have changed in that time.

Flickr project

I'm trying to conquer this Flickr assignment and I'll do it by jigger. My daughter and I had an opportunity to visit the Magnolia Plantation in April of 2006 while visiting family in Charleston. It was a wonderful trip - we had so much fun I want to do it again! The Plantation was magnificient and the only disappointment was that the Magnolias were not yet in bloom. We saw 'gators, turtles and many varieties of tropical birds. One of these was a species that swam with it's body under water and only it's head and beak were above water. They told us it looked like a snake when swimming. We were shown the slaves quarters, very bare and at a distance from the planation house. We had a great tour of the plantation house, also, and it had a lovely art gallery and gift shop. Gotta love those gift shops!!

Here it is!!! My family and I on the Smith River, Memorial weekend, 2007. This was my 2nd float down the Smith and it was just as fun and exciting as the 1st. We saw more wildlife the year before, but there's always ducks & geese & thousands of other birds.

Lesson 3, fini

Gosh, I have 8 feeds, 5 of which are other's blogs, 1 cnn, 1 boing boing, and 1... (shish, having a senior moment here)! Anyway, once I got the hang of it, it was pretty cool. I like posting to other blogs, too. I hope the next lessons go smoothly..........

Yipee!

I finally learned to do the RSS feeds and have 7 (I think) on my blogline. Now to learn how to add some of the blogs from our class to it. What a kick!

7 1/2 Habits

Seems like I've spent a life time learning - a lot of hard knocks on the way, however, I'm in the beginning of another time of learning - on my own again and loving it! The end for me will be retirement someday and am looking forward to and trying to prepare for it. However, I'm going to enjoy working as long as necessary.

No one can learn for us and if we don't step up to the plate, we're going to end up like a lot of folks: nothing to do and nowhere to go. I've had many challenges in my life, and how boring life would be without them. I think these challenges help to build confidence in yourself so you can feel confident to meet even more (challenges). UGH!

I'm not sure about the use of a learning toolbox. I'll have to find out what that is first. Everyone around me teaches and mentors me. Isn't that great?

Ok, now do I get to play???

Hello!

I have just created my personal blog and am learning all kinds of new things. It's a little scary but fun and I know that in a few days, it will be much easier. I'm hoping I'll be able to blog (?) with you! Ta, for now....
